Welcome!
My name is Allie Giancarlo and I am an early childhood/elementary major at Marian University. My interest in teaching came through my many years of working as a child care provider for various families in my neighborhood, as well as assisting my younger (and sometimes my older) siblings with their homework; the carefree nature of children has always brought a smile to my face, and when I am able to help them understand new concepts about the world around them, it makes me feel like I am truly making a difference in the lives of others.
While enrolled in the School of Education at Marian, I was privileged enough to take a course about educational technology, learning many different methods to incorporating different technological aspects to a students' learning. The purpose of this website is to showcase the knowledge I have gained within my Ed. Tech. course here as a first year School of Education student. I feel as though, since the world is advancing quickly in technological areas, that education is going to be extremely high-tech once I begin teaching. Therefore, I am sure that the tools that I have been familiarized with while taking this course are going to prepare me for what is to come in the years ahead. Not only will the tool I have learned in this class help me to educate my students in some other way than paper and pencil based learning, but I will be able to keep myself more organized as well, in turn, being able to focus more on my students.
